Girls lead through Art: GSS Project Celebrates International Day of the Girl Child in Sabaila
On October 11 th 2025 International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated in great enthusiasm at Hakraul Tole of Sabaila Municipality Ward in the framework of Girls Standing Strong (GSS) Project with the topic of "The Girl I Am; The Change I Lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis." It was centered on the empowerment of adolescent girls' leadership, creativity and potentiality in changing their communities. In commemoration of the day, a painting (drawing) competition involving 31 girls aged 14 to 18 years was conducted, offering them an opportunity to be imaginative and let their dreams and leadership flow through. The activity coincided with the theme of the day by requiring girls to envision and describe change that they wanted to bring about in their communities. The event was graced by Ms. Manda Kumari Karn, JWAS Chairperson, and Mr. Deban Raut, Ward Member of Ward 13, who appreciated the participants' level of confidence and creativity. The event was also attended by the community members and stakeholders, who demonstrated that they would support girls' empowerment and leadership even after the event.
